Settler guard uses army vehicle to help build outpost

A security official stationed in a settler outpost south of Hebron used an army-issued vehicle to help with illegal building, Israeli media reported on Sunday. While all Israeli settlements are illegal under international law, Israel makes a distinction between officially sanctioned communities and outposts built without formal government authorization. The Avigail outpost in the south Hebron hills is thus formally illegal under Israeli law. While the Israeli military provides security for the outposts, building is technically illegal activity. According to the Haaretz report, the Avigail security coordinator was filmed by Taayush activists using his army vehicle to transport construction material to the outpost.
